My name is Steve Jacobson. I am the founder of "The Spreading Love Project". I have been playing guitar since age 4, wrote my first song at around 6 or 7 (called "If I had a penny"), started learning piano when my mother bought me an electric piano on my 21st birthday, and have been playing around with multiple other instruments and writing songs in the many years that have passed since.
As I explained in the “History & Future Plans” page of this site, The Spreading Love Project began on my 33rd birthday, almost 30 years ago. On that “History & Future Plans” page, you can read how the day before that birthday, I met a psychic who told me that I had been sent to earth to spread love through this world through music, and and it was that idea that inspired me to begin, what many years later came to be called, “The Spreading Love Project”.
In the 30 plus years since that day, I have written and recorded... and written more and recorded and re-recorded more... and continued to write and re-record many songs, frequently going over the same ones over and over again while slowly but surely over the years improving my skills, but never being fully satisfied with the final result of any... until finally now. After many years of my life being sidetracked by this and that… basically life and all of its surprises, I have finally reached the point in my life where I have taken the plunge and made a commitment to dedicating myself entirely toward nothing but “The Spreading Love Project”. It's hard for me to imagine how I allowed 30 years of my life to pass me by before I could actually consider do that, and it's hard for me to imagine that in all of that time, I was not able to consider any of thes songs to be finished, but what can I say… that's what happened! I guess there is some truth to the old adage that “great things take time”. Well, 30 years is definitely time… now we'll just have to see if anyone considers what I've created to be great!
So after 30 years, I am proud to announce that I have finally, finally, finally actually finished my first entire record! It's a little over 40 minutes long (close to the maximum that can fit on a vinyl record) and am now in the process of going through the steps that need to be taken to get it released. As the final finishing touches get made (the final mixing of the last song, the mastering, the artwork, and the manufacturing of CDs and Vinyl Records etc.), I will be preparing to release the songs one by one onto all of the major music streaming channels like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and others, so that everyone can finally start hearing them!
In the meantime, I do have a piano solo record that I recorded many years ago (that you can also read about that in the “History & Future Plans” page of this site.) I wrote and recorded in a one week period, right after I bought my first grand piano over 25 years ago. The record was inspired by the children and staff of Tashirat Orphanage in Tepoztlan, Mexico, an orphanage founded by my sister.... a lifelong dream of hers that she finally fulfilled, which has been a beautiful blessing to a lot of children and adults in the many years since its inception (see more details about Tashirat Orphanage below.) You can listen to it in entirety below, and ultimately it too, will be able to be streamed and listened to on Spotify and Apple Music and YouTube Music and other streaming channels as well.
And finally, please also enjoy the 2 videos (on the "For Pet Lover's" page) that I recently created in honor of the passing of Little Jo, my beloved Border Collie dog, who passed away a little over 2 years ago at the age of 15 years, 7 months and 1 day old, who I loved with all of my heart. (You can also read that whole story also on the “History & Future Plans” page of this website). I wrote a song for him on the morning after he passed away, called "So Sad You're Gone", which ended up being the first song that I actually finished on this upcoming record. It is also a song that I made my first video for, which is one of the 2 videos that I am referring to on the "For Pet Lover's" page. It is a very meaningful and special song to me, and a beautiful tribute to my big, special, beautiful boy, and as you will read about if you read the “History & Future Plans”, you will see why Little Jo has become such a big part of “The Spreading Love Project”.
And finally, I hope you enjoy my music when it does begin to get released soon. I really hope that it touches your heart and your life in all of the ways that I intended it to. If you subscribe to this website (below), I will keep you informed about when it (and future songs and videos) get released. It would be an honor for me if you would join the efforts of "The Spreading Love Project", by simply enjoying (and sharing if you feel compelled to do so) any of the songs and videos and video journeys that get created, as we do everything that we can think of to try to help make YOUR life AND the lives of as many others in this world as possible, HAPPIER AND MORE JOYFUL!!!
With my heartfelt gratitude, I thank you sincerely.
Warmly,
Steve Jacobson
